Well, I had my 27 week appointment today.
To include the glucola, and an ultrasound.
The glucola... not so good.
Never is.
I actually took every second of that five minutes they gave me to "chug" 6oz of the noncarbonated, sugary syrup. I got lemon lime this time. Not any better than the orange or the fruit punch.
But I got it down.
Then we hurried upstairs to the main lobby to see Nash on the big screen.
Which went as good as could be expected...
I had all three of the other children with me today, by myself.
And Nadie did not like the ultrasound.
At. All.
Cried {very loudly} through almost the entire thing. Even though she was practically sitting on my chest.
I felt bad for the tech... really.
But we got the pics of what we needed to see, since he wasn't in a real good position last time at 23 weeks.
Like the brain hemispheres, the valves of the heart, the bladder, and kidneys.
She measured the fluid, and said I had a lot of it. Didn't get an actual number of the amount {she may have said it, I just couldn't hear it through Nadie's meltdown} but I have another ultrasound scheduled in another four weeks to see what the levels are then.
I guess a number over 25 but below 30 is considered a mild case of polyhydramnios. The way she referred to me was a borderline case, so I'm thinking I am maybe a 28?
Anyways. I of course googled extra fluid when I got home and found out that it could be because of gestational diabetes {just tested for that today...}, a genetic abnormality {nothing has been found there, and I have had three ultrasounds this pregnancy already!}, or fetal anemia or Fifths disease {which has to do with an Rh blood incompatibility... I am O+}. Or in 80% of cases {and probably mine} there is no real reason.
But it sure makes for taking pics easier!
Look at this kid!
Perfect!!
Then she measured his belly. Which measured almost a week bigger than his gestational age.
I was 26 weeks 6 days today, and he measured 27 weeks 5 days.
Then she measured his head and that was measuring at 29 weeks roughly.
So she averaged it after measuring both a second time, which puts him nine days bigger than his gestational age right now.
They don't have concern or question the size until the baby measures 14 days or two weeks bigger.
So I guess what this all means, is more ultrasounds {yeah!!} to make sure things are remaining normal.
There was no reason to say we would be inducing early {especially at this point}, but from what I read it is a possibility {been there, done that}, to make sure the membranes are ruptured in a controlled setting in case something like a prolapsed cord, or placental abruption {rupture} happens. Which would mean an immediate C section. Ew.
So, anyways, that is the update.
Here are the recent stats:

Here are the recent stats:
Weeks: 27
Gender: Still a BOY!
Aversions: None really.
Cravings: Peanut butter. Like big time. On a spoon or several stalks of celery. Every day.
Complaints: Exaggerated Varicose Vein pain in my left calf and spider veins. Heartburn. Braxton hicks contractions after carrying kids, groceries, or going up and down stairs all afternoon.
Heartburn: Getting more regular. And just last night, I actually got woke up from it.
Feeling Baby Move: Yes! At night when I lay down.
Sleeping at night: I would...but Nadie just won't let me {or her dad}. We are back to getting up two times a night. Not to eat. Just to cry {sometimes both of us... just kidding. But almost sometimes.} For ten to fifteen minutes. Then, just like that she is back to sleep like nothing ever happened. It is beyond irritating. And the Hub often finds himself in the guest bed for the remainder of the night. Poor guy. Pfft!
Weight: 158.
Gain: 28 pounds so far, which I totally attribute to the extra fluid and big baby, no?
{or the PB. Or Easter candy.}
Name: Nash Ryan, of course!
Belly pics:
Next preggie update in four weeks.
Oh, the suspense!
